Introduction

On this site, we plan to share historical documents, bibliographies, biographies and other information relating to the history of Catholic Action in New Zealand.

One of the most important of these is a special edition of The Catholic Review in 1948, which is in effect a manual for establishing Specialised Catholic Action in New Zealand.

Also included are copies of various publications, beginning with several early publications from the Diocese of Dunedin from as early as 1938.

As the years go by, the growing influence of Cardijn-inspired methods of formation and organisation becomes clear.

To date, we have three biographies of Cardinal Reg Delargey, Fr John Curnow and Cardinal Tom Williams, all three of whom were convinced Cardijn apostles.

We would be happy to receive further documentation and information to add to this site.
